Every city has creative hubs where ideas are born and new creations come to life every day -- places that enlighten the mind and feed the soul. Alive with designers, artists, fashionistas and makers, there’s something utterly fascinating about these neighborhoods in a constant state of flux.
Almanac Of Style explores and documents these moments in history. We uncover the people, stories and creations that move us and paint an intimate portrait of the creative spirit and aesthetic of each place through a deep dive of interviews and travel guides with local creators.
We are here to celebrate local talent and provide a platform for you to discover and support these special communities by shopping small.
How AOS Works
Each season, we feature a new neighborhood and roll out a market of goods in collaboration with local creators. Shop custom, limited-edition pieces created exclusively for AOS by local designers, as well as curated collections from local boutiques.
Our first ever market is Joshua Tree, California! We hope you fall in love with it as much as we did. Stay tuned to find out where Summer 2017 will take us.

I tend to have a romantic relationship with places and am continually swept off my feet by them. It’s why in a span of 10 years, I chose to live in five different cities, including my hometown of Houston, Austin, Miami, New York and now Los Angeles.
But while I lust after cities, the neighborhoods within them are my true love – particularly artist hives brimming with creative energy. There’s always something new emerging, and I am moved by the genuine sense of community. Almanac of Style is my love letter to these special places. It is an evolving record of my many interests: travel, design, journalism, photography, culture and, of course, fashion.
Style is a way of life for me, and each new place I’ve discovered has its own. Though I love Alexander McQueen and Christian Louboutin as much as the next girl, I prefer the intimacy of discovering a local artist, stumbling across a tiny boutique, or digging for vintage treasure. Uncovering hidden gems is my passion, and now, I’d like to share it with you.
My goal through Almanac of Style is to promote and support the creative economy in beloved artist communities around the world by introducing them to you.
Discover global. Support local.
With love and style,
Ruby S. Nichols
